On a yacht, owned by billionaire Frank Lowy, an engineer was killed when the automatic doors on the aft deck malfunctioned, cutting him in two.

Solicitor Stuart Gray acted on behalf of his widow. The argument involved the location of the vessel off the coast of Thailand and the law applicable to the action.

The case was heard in the Supreme Court by His Honour Justice Nigel Rein.
