NSW Police Officer, Christopher Charles Fullick was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and common assault.
During his court case Mr Fullick’s legal team, including Stuart Gray, argued that he was not guilty, due to “automatism”.
They introduced three key experts – a neurosurgeon, a neurologist and a psychologist – who all stated that the police officer was acting as an “automaton” at the time of the assault.
On the second day of a hearing in Newcastle Local Court, Magistrate Andrew Eckhold acquitted Mr Fullick of both charges.
