Michael Pont joined Cardillo Gray partners in 2018 after a 15-year career in the New South Wales Police Force.
Michael’s interest in practising law led him to pursue legal qualifications after many years of experience in criminal investigations, corporate management, consulting, and forensic accounting.
During his career in the New South Wales Police Force, Michael was a detective for 12 years. This has giving him significant experience in criminal law investigations and the court environment.
For five years, Michael was a fraud investigator with Austrade, undertaking successful criminal investigations in foreign jurisdictions. He was also a member of a federal government advisory panel on fraud control and anti-money laundering control frameworks.
Michael has conducted forensic accounting investigations for the Indonesian government and consulted through the World Bank on fraud and money laundering prevention.
A qualified accountant, Michael has practiced as a forensic accountant for many years. He has given expert evidence in most jurisdictions in Australia and provided expert reports for litigation and dispute resolutions.
He was admitted in 2018 after completing his Bachelor of Laws at the University of Southern Queensland.
Michael is passionate about advocating for his clients in all legal and non-legal forums. His areas of expertise include:
